Gudauri sits at 2,200 m on the Georgian Military Road, and the season here is long: the first reliable snow usually falls in early December and the lifts keep running into early April.
When to come
December — quiet slopes and the lowest prices, but the snowpack is still building. January and February — the deepest snow and the best freeride, with frequent storm days. March — long sunny days, soft afternoon snow and the friendliest weather for a first-timer.
What to bring
A board or skis you can rent from us. Bring what rental shops never have in your size: comfortable base layers, warm gloves plus a spare pair, goggles for flat light, and sunscreen. At this altitude the sun burns even through cloud.
First time on snow?
Book lessons for the first three days rather than one. Two hours a day with an instructor gets most beginners down the blue slopes confidently by day three — a single lesson rarely does.
